Terms of use
Clear terms for the free pre-launch site.
These terms apply when you use the free French at the Counter website, join the membership waitlist or request the Café Cheat Sheet.
Effective: 4 September 2026
Free access
The published free lessons, story previews and guide are available without payment or an account.
Membership waitlist and free guide
Submitting the pre-launch form requests the free Café Cheat Sheet and an email confirmation link. The guide is immediately downloadable. Only pressing the confirmation button activates your email and selected country for one membership-opening notification. Neither action creates an account, takes payment or subscribes you to a newsletter.
After confirmation, you may optionally indicate which planned membership offer interests you. The answer is research only: it does not create a purchase, guarantee a price or reserve one of the limited founding places. Founding availability will be determined only by successful payment after checkout opens.
Use an email address you control and select your habitual country of residence accurately. You can ask for removal through the support and privacy process.
Digital-content licence
Lessons, stories, exercises, audio, images and the Café Cheat Sheet are provided for your personal learning use. You may print the guide for yourself. You may not resell, publicly redistribute or republish the learning material.
Your responsibilities
Use the service lawfully, do not attempt to bypass access controls or interfere with the site, and do not upload or send malicious material. When contacting support, do not send passwords, sign-in links or full payment-card details.
Service and content changes
Learning material, features and presentation may be corrected or updated over time. The existence of a waitlist does not guarantee a particular launch date, country, price or paid feature.
Service and email providers
Cloudflare hosts and protects the site. Supabase stores waitlist and guide-request records. Brevo sends the requested guide and, later, the single membership-opening notification. Their own terms and privacy information also apply to the parts of the service they operate.
Mandatory rights
These terms do not remove consumer or other legal rights that cannot be waived. No governing law, court, arbitration process or jurisdiction is selected on this page.
